The One Web Host I Use Myself

Today I received the following comment on one of my affiliate websites:

“Hey would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re working with? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most. Can you suggest a good internet hosting provider at a fair price? Thanks, I appreciate it!”

BigScoots Web HostingWell, it so happens that after more than ten years of using HostGator as my main hosting company, (plus two others), I had recently moved all my websites to a hosting company called BigScoots Web Hosting. I had used HostGator, for more than 10 years, but since they’d been taken over by Endurance International Group, Inc. (EIG), their load speeds and customer service had become more and more unacceptable.

Initially, I first moved just a couple of sites because I wanted to test them thoroughly before committing to them 100%, but I quickly realized that their load-speeds and customer service stood head and shoulders above HostGator, and a total transition to BigScoots was an easy decision.A month later I migrated all of my business and affiliate websites to BigScoots, plus those I host for a few select clients. I’ve received extremely positive feedback from these clients as well.

I had researched my alternatives very thoroughly and made certain I didn’t go with just another EIG owned company (there are dozens of them, unfortunately). So far, I’m extremely happy with BigScoots. They get excellent feedback from Web Hosting Talk, a forum that publishes completely unbiased reports from their members.

Despite the fact that I had been growing more and more dissatisfied with HostGator, I had put off looking for new hosting simply because I dreaded the prospect of moving nearly twenty websites; my life was busy enough without that added chore. But I needn’t have worried, their Customer Service, in particular, Justin, asked for just a few details, and in less than two hours, all of my remaining websites were transferred to my BigScoots account, including the many email addresses. I could hardly believe it when I logged on to my new control panel.

According to my own performance monitoring across all my sites, BigScoots uptime and server response times are among the best around, so performance wise they were an excellent choice, hence the comment I received today.

In addition, their reputation for service and communication is also strong which is completely consistent with my experience. They offer 24/7 live chat support in addition to the usual ticket system, and if you are looking at switching providers they offer the free migration service which saved an enormous amount of hassle.
